Heisman Trophy winner, All-American and potential No. 1 overall pick Travis Hunter lands with the Jacksonville Jaguars in NFL Network's Bucky Brooks latest recent 2025 NFL mock draft.

Bucky Brooks of NFL.com put together his 2.0 version of his first-round mock draft prediction on Wednesday and it did not disappoint.

Most NFL Draft analyst have been projecting the Jaguars to take Michigan defensive lineman Mason Graham or his teammate former Wolverine cornerback Will Johnson, some even have the "Jags" trading out of the No. 5 pick altogether for more draft capital.

Here is what Brooks had to say about Travis Hunter's slight fall to Jacksonville in his latest mock released.

"Adding a dynamic defensive playmaker could help solidify the Jaguars' coverage and improve their takeaway prowess in a “see ball, get ball” scheme under new DC Anthony Campanile," wrote Brooks.

Hunter is working out at the NFL Combine as a cornerback and if selected by Jacksonville will start at cornerback next to Tyson Campbell, 24 who was also a former first round pick. Hunter would immediately upgrade that position group for the Jaguars as they were in the bottom ten of most pass defense stats. Secondary is one of the bigger needs they have to attack this offseason, specifically, finding a starter on the opposite of Campbell.

Here's what Lance Zierlein also of NFL.com wrote in his scouting report of Hunter:

"The cornerback tape was solid in 2023 and improved across the board in 2024. Hunter takes his skills and instincts from receiver and transfers them to cornerback, where they amplify his ball-hawking talent and production. Hunter plays with excellent anticipation from man or zone with burst and playmaking range that should terrify quarterbacks. He possesses rare ball skills and leaping ability to make challenging interceptions and he will contest a high number of passes."

If Travis Hunter could also handle a significant workload and play both ways he truly could be special for Jacksonville and also help them offensively. Hunter would create a dynamic receiving duo with former first round pick and All-Rookie Teamer Brian Thomas Jr.

Hunter currently listed at (6-foot-2, 185 pounds) played more snaps (1,360) than any other FBS player in 2024 as a junior at Colorado.

The two-way player was extremely productive on offense finishing tied for the second-most touchdown receptions (15) and finishing fifth in receiving yards (1,258) on 96 receptions at receiver.

On defense, Hunter was a lock down corner, quarterbacks player threw his way. Hunter had 11 pass breakups, with four interceptions and a forced fumble.

Brooks' latest projects edge-rusher Abdul Carter,, quarterback Cam Ward and Hunter's former teammate and best friend quarterback Shedeur Sanders along with former LSU offensive tackle Will Campbell all ahead of Hunter.

The NFL combine will be a huge opportunity for Travis Hunter to bolster his draft stock and, potentially, earn a earlier selection than projected here and possibly even No. 1 overall to the Titans. Only time will tell but it starts in Indy at the NFL Combine, Thu, Feb 27, 2025 – Sun, Mar 2, 2025.

Duval County and Jaguars fans are looking for a future superstar to go along with Trevor Lawrence, new head coach Liam Cohen and new general manager James Gladstone. Shad Khan and his organization will also have their $1.4 billion renovation of EverBank Stadium done in 2028, so sky's the limit for the Jaguars future.
