Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig is One of the Bigger Misses of NFL Combine

Every year there is always a few head-scratching omissions from the NFL Combine list. This time around, the most egregious snub has to be Colorado safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig.

If you watched the Buffs last season, you know Silmon-Craig wasn’t just another guy in the secondary—he was the guy. He racked up 89 tackles, two sacks, an interception, and even took a fumble to the house. More importantly, he was the vocal leader of Colorado’s defense, the kind of player who set the tone with his energy and instincts.

And yet, somehow, 329 players got an invite to Indianapolis, and Silmon-Craig wasn’t one of them. Make it make sense.

While guys like Shedeur Sanders, Travis Hunter, and Jimmy Horn Jr. rightfully got their tickets punched, Silmon-Craig’s absence feels like a massive oversight. The Combine isn’t just about testing numbers—it’s about letting guys show their football IQ, instincts, and leadership in front of scouts. If there’s one thing Silmon-Craig brings, it’s those intangibles.

Unfortunately, this means he’ll have to prove himself through Pro Day workouts and private visits instead of the big stage in Indy. But let’s be real—this snub might only add fuel to his fire. Players with his kind of motor and chip-on-the-shoulder mentality tend to shine when it matters most.

NFL teams looking for a playmaking, high-football-IQ safety should still have Silmon-Craig on their radar. The Combine may have overlooked him, but come draft weekend, don’t be surprised if he proves them wrong.
