The Carolina Panthers just got a whole lot faster — and we all know Panther fans are going to love Jimmy Horn Jr.
Horn might not have the biggest frame at 5-foot-9, 174 pounds, but don’t let the size fool you. He’s a big-play waiting to happen. From the moment he stepped on the field at Colorado, Horn looked like an immediate NFL prospect with his 4.40 speed and turning short routes into touchdowns.
Bryce Young now gets to throw to Horn Jr. and Tetairoa McMillan? That's a really great improvement for the Panthers.
In two seasons in Boulder, Horn racked up 1,008 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. That 2024 opener was pure fireworks, torching North Dakota State for 198 yards and a score.
Horn’s versatility is a huge deal for Carolina. He’s a natural in the return game, logging over 800 career special teams yards and flashes explosiveness that could make him a nightmare for the NFC South.
Some scouts knocked him for size or occasional drops. But the toughness Horn showed — on the field and off — made him a Coach Prime favorite for a reason.
Horn’s role fits beautifully. Bryce doesn’t need slow-developing routes to succeed — he is going to thrive with guys who create separation fast and give him easy completions.
McMillan will pull safeties deep. Horn will carve up the underneath routes. The Panthers front office added weapons on the team, which is what they desperately needed.
I think we'll see a vast improvement from Bryce Young in year 3.
