Colorado is likely going to be without one of its most important weapons for a second consecutive game.

Junior WR Omarion Miller's availability is in doubt for Friday night's game against Houston, according to Coach Prime, who said he "didn't know if we're going to see him this week" when asked about Miller's ability to play.

Miller suffered a groin injury during Colorado's season-opening loss to Georgia Tech and missed last week's 31-7 win over Delaware as a result.

Miller came into the season expected to be Colorado's WR1. Against Georgia Tech, Miller caught one pass for 39 yards. The passing game was mostly non-existent for the majority of the evening.

Those struggles led Deion Sanders to give third-string QB Ryan Staub a shot last week against Delaware. Staub entered the game in the second quarter and led the Buffaloes to some explosive plays in the passing game, most notably a 71-yard touchdown pass to Sincere Brown that allowed Colorado to gain separation in a game that had been closer than it should've been.

Colorado needs Omarion Miller for the offense to realize its full potential

Colorado has depth and talent at the WR position. Too much talent not to be able to stretch the field vertically, which is why we could see a QB change on Friday night.

The Buffs have enough talent to get by without Miller, but the junior WR was the talk of spring practice and fall camp. He could be one of the most impactful players on the offense, and the sooner he is able to get back on the field, the better for Colorado.

Groin injuries can be tricky and they can take time to heal completely. The last thing Colorado wants to do is rush Miller back and then have him suffer a setback that holds him out for much longer. As important as the game against Houston is as the Big 12 opener, it's important to remember that it's still only Week 3 and it's a long season in Boulder.

Miller will be back. And when he is, he's going to make a major impact.
