Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders isn't with the bull junk this year.

After a disappointing 3-9 season this past year, Coach Prime is making it clear he won't tolerate the same old habits from his players—whether that means skipping meetings or showing up late to practice.

Coach Prime announces fines for Colorado players for violations

In the new world of college football, NIL has transformed the game by allowing players to profit from brand deals and sponsorships.

Coach Prime is seizing the moment, essentially telling players that if you're not willing to give it your all for this program, we'll redirect that money elsewhere.

It's no surprise that skipping practice carries the steepest fine at $2,500, though public or social media misconduct can reach up to $5,000 depending on the severity.

With 37 players leaving and 42 newcomers arriving, Coach Prime has a real opportunity to reshape the culture at CU and change the narrative surrounding this team.

I think the fine for being late to a meeting or film session should be higher than $400.00 unless there's a valid excuse.

We got a glimpse of Prime's no-nonsense approach when Colorado faced Utah this past season, coming off a bye week.

Colorado's top two wide receivers—Omarion Miller (now on Arizona State's roster) and Joseph Williams—were benched at the start of the team's game against Utah for disciplinary reasons.

Coach Prime sent a message by benching two players who showed up late to a team meeting—even as his team suffered a crushing 53-7 defeat.

In July 2025, Sanders revealed that he had been battling a form of bladder cancer during the offseason, which kept him away from the team for several months due to surgery.

Now that Sanders has a full offseason to spend with the team and new players joining the herd, he's making the most of it.
