When Deion Sanders offered Brayden Bailey his first college scholarship over the weekend, it wasn’t just another recruiting headline—it was personal.

Brayden, a Class of 2028 prospect and the son of Hall of Famer and Broncos icon Champ Bailey, announced his Colorado offer after visiting Boulder with his father. It’s the kind of full-circle moment that feels tailor-made for Coach Prime’s script.

Let’s be real—this is more than just a football offer. This is two generations of elite cornerback DNA colliding in Boulder. Prime and Champ were teammates in Washington back in 2000. Now, his kid could end up walking the same sideline Deion now commands.

Brayden flashed promise as a freshman at Holy Innocents Episcopal (Atlanta), tallying 22 tackles and two picks. He also contributed on special teams—just like Prime once did, and just like Travis Hunter does now. There’s a blueprint being built here in Boulder, and the Baileys might be part of it.

CU’s 2024 season in the Big 12 showed serious growth, finishing with a 9–4 record, highlighted by blowout wins over Oklahoma State (52–0) and Utah (49–24). With that momentum and a pipeline of NFL-caliber mentorship, this program is cooking.

Champ, who spent time coaching CU’s corners during the visit, said it best: “Everything starts with your feet.” It’s looking like Brayden’s next steps could lead straight to Folsom Field.
