Look, I love what Coach Prime has brought to Boulder. The energy, the swagger, the belief—those are things Colorado football was starving for. But what went down at the Buffs’ NFL Showcase? That one didn’t sit right with me.
In a Well Off Media video, a Denver Broncos scout was explaining how players should start their 40-yard dash. It wasn’t smooth, and yes, there was confusion about the starting line. Still, watching Coach Prime cut him off with, “**** this man here. Do y’all thing,” made me cringe.

I get it—he loves his guys. But this isn’t high school anymore. These players are trying to make a living. The scout wasn’t some villain; he was doing his job. Telling your athletes to ignore NFL evaluators? That doesn’t help them. It hurts them.
Take Shilo Sanders for example—he needed a 4.4 to win a car from his dad. He ran a 4.52. Tenths of a second matter. So does how you carry yourself in a room full of NFL decision-makers.
And yeah, it was great to see Shedeur airing it out and Hunter catching everything with no gloves. Jimmy Horn Jr. and LaJohntay Wester looked solid, too. But moments like that outburst? They make headlines for the wrong reasons.
Prime is a legend. But even legends need to read the room sometimes. Let the scouts do their jobs.
