If you’re trying to build a wall in front of your quarterback, you might as well start with a mountain. That’s exactly what Coach Prime just did.
Colorado’s offensive line just got a whole lot scarier with the addition of 6-foot-7, 350-pound Tennessee transfer Larry Johnson III. This is Coach Prime re-creating a Larry Allen-type. And we are hyped.
This is a move that turns a weakness into a strength overnight. Johnson is a former top JUCO prospect (Hutchinson CC) who played real snaps in the SEC, including a standout game against Oklahoma where he didn’t give up a single pressure on 41 snaps
And now? He’s bringing that dominance to Boulder.
Picture this starting five up front:
LT Jordan Seaton (6’5”, 330)
LG Xavier Hill (6’4”, 320)
C Zarian McGill (6’2”, 320)
RG Zy Crisler (6’7”, 340)
RT Larry Johnson III (6’7”, 350)
This O-line is suddenly massive, mean, and mobile.
Johnson’s not the only Vol making the trip west, either. Defensive back John Slaughter is coming too, giving Colorado another SEC-tested player in the secondary. The Prime Effect is still very real, folks.
