Colorado men’s basketball is officially set to begin a home-and-home series with Providence, starting with a visit from the Friars this November.

Yeah, that Providence — the one with former CU assistant Kim English now at the helm and ex-Buffs point guard Nate Tomlinson calling plays on the bench.

This is a much-needed upgrade to CU’s nonconference slate — something fans have grumbled about for years. After finishing 2024 with a respectable 11-2 nonconference mark and holding their own in a brutally deep Big 12, Tad Boyle and crew are no longer flying under the radar.

Bringing a Big East team like Providence to the Events Center is a power move. It’ll be the first Big East regular-season opponent to visit Boulder since 2016. That’s a long drought for a program that’s itching to prove it belongs.

So circle Nov. 14. Providence in Boulder. This one’s personal — and it just might set the tone for something special.
