The Colorado Buffaloes are officially in the hunt for one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class. Brodie McWhorter, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound gunslinger out of Cass High School in Georgia, will announce his college decision on May 15 at 12:30 p.m. ET. He’s down to five schools: Wisconsin, Indiana, Mississippi State, Auburn, and, of course, Coach Prime’s Colorado Buffaloes.
This is a big one, folks.

McWhorter is currently ranked as the No. 14 quarterback in his class and No. 170 overall according to Rivals. His combination of size, accuracy, and playmaking ability makes him a highly sought-after prospect. The Buffs, fresh off their first season in the Big 12, are looking to stack up elite talent after a rollercoaster 2024 campaign.
So, does CU have a legitimate shot? It’s hard to say. Unlike Wisconsin and Auburn, who have been in the mix for a while, McWhorter hasn’t publicly indicated CU as a frontrunner. But if there’s one thing we know about Coach Prime, it’s that he can close on elite recruits. He’s built a brand that attracts high-profile talent, and McWhorter could thrive in an offense designed to showcase his arm.
So buckle up, if Oscar Rios does not choose Colorado, we would love to see McWhorter pick Colorado. If he does, the future of Buffs football just got even more brighter.
