Unsurprisingly, the Colorado Buffaloes defensive coordinator is attracting interest from other teams.
The Cowboys, per sources, have in-person interviews today with:

Arizona CB coach Ryan Smith w/ deal essentially done after interest from a few teams.
Baltimore DC Zach Orr. Interviewed for DC job, LB background.
Colorado DC Robert Livingston, who coached safeties w/ Bengals.
The Dallas Cowboys have recognized Livingston's potential, bringing him in for an interview that could land him a position on their defensive staff.
Livingston helped drive a defensive turnaround in Deion Sanders' second year as head coach, cutting points allowed from 34.8 to 23.1 per game while allowing almost 100 yards less from the season prior.
Livingston's defense in 2024 had no shortage of playmakers. Travis Hunter, DJ McKinney, Cam'ron Silmon-Craig, Dayon Hayes, B.J. Green, and Chidozie Nwankwo drove the defensive effort just to name a few.
Livingston’s defensive unit forced five red zone turnovers across three games in 2024 against Colorado State, Baylor, and UCF.
Colorado's defense had a rough go of it last season, getting torched for 30.5 points per game while opponents gashed them for 222.5 yards on the ground.
Without defensive playmakers, the team struggled to generate pressure on the quarterback and couldn't contain the opposition on the ground.
In 2025, the Buffs extended Livingston through 2026, making him the highest-paid assistant in school history at $1.55 million annually, with potential earnings of $1.6-1.7 million in 2026.
Even if Livingston departs for Dallas, Deion Sanders is still in good shape. The winter workouts give him ample opportunity to identify the right replacement and the timing isn’t too terrible.
