After dropping six straight games in the heart of Big 12 play, the Buffs have turned things around with a 4-3 record since, including back-to-back home wins over Oklahoma State and Kansas State.
They nearly pulled off an overtime win in Provo over BYU, but Robert Wright III had other plans—he notched a career-high 39 points to seal the victory.
Colorado is in a tough spot on the road against Houston
The Buffs travel to Houston, who's hungry for a bounce-back win after dropping three straight—all against ranked opponents (No. 4 Iowa State, No. 2 Arizona, and No. 14 Kansas).
Most recently, the team scraped together just 56 points on the road against the Kansas Jayhawks. Tre White delivered 23 points for Kansas, while Darryn Peterson struggled from the field but still chipped in 14 points.
The Jayhawks held the Cougars to just 31.8% shooting from the field and an even worse 20.8% from three-point range (5-of-24). Kingston Flemings was the only Houston player to reach double figures, scoring 16 points on 18 shots.
This is Colorado’s only meeting with Houston this season. The teams last faced each other in the Big 12 tournament last year, where Andrej Jakimovski's 25 points weren't enough to overcome a 77-68 defeat.
After a disastrous 2024-25 season and return to the Big 12, Tad Boyle's squad has doubled their conference win total from last year, currently sitting at six wins.
Colorado faces a tougher road than Houston to close the regular season, with away games at No. 5 Houston and No. 2 Arizona surrounding a home matchup against Utah.
