Colorado football was pounded into submission by Devin Neal and the Kansas Jayhawks at Arrowhead Stadium. CU went down 37-21 in the Week 13 contest against the Big 12's biggest agent of chaos, KU.

It was an ugly first 30 minutes for the Buffs defense.

The onslaught began from the opening possession, as the Jayhawks marched down the field for the touchdown in a drive that lasted over three minutes.

From there, Kansas continued to penetrate the Colorado defense with nearly 200 yards of rushing and 342 yards overall. It also heavily controlled the time of possession, 21 minutes to the Buffaloes' nine.

If there's a glimmer of hope, the Buffs' offense found its gear in the second quarter on both possessions with both passing touchdowns from QB Shedeur Sanders to receivers Travis Hunter and Drelon Miller. With Miller's touchdown, Sanders established a new school record for single-season passing touchdowns with 29.

The Buffs offense got the ball to start the second half, and they took just over three minutes to score on a touchdown throw from Sanders to Hunter for the second time of the game.

But much like the first half, the Buffs couldn't stop Neal as he steamrolled the Colorado defense for an astounding 207 rushing yards on 37 carries and three touchdowns; the last two to ice the game for Kansas.

Shedeur completed 23/29 passes, gaining 266 yards and scoring three touchdowns. Travis Hunter eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving on the season with 125 yards on eight catches and a pair of touchdowns. DB Shilo Sanders led the defense with 13 tackles.

The Buffs (8-3, 6-2 Big-12) wrap up their regular season at Fulsom Field next Friday against Oklahoma State.

Amazingly enough, the Buffs can still reach the Big 12 title game. A lot of good fortune needs to come their way, though.

The path to the College Football Playoff is no longer clear. It's cloudy at best.
