Colorado football superfan and Boulder real estate agent Lauren Levy provided a positive update on Miss Peggy Coppom's health after Deion Sanders revealed the 99-year-old wasn't traveling due to COVID-19.

As Levy notes, Coppom had overcome the ailment and was on the mend.

"To clarify some news….Peggy had Covid 3 weeks ago," Levy prefaced before saying, "She has recovered fully but still gets tired. So a late game is too hard for her. But she is doing much better. She was attending Buffs Belles luncheons again last weds.

"To recover from a big fall/ hip surgery and then Covid at nearly 100 years old is a testament to how strong Peggy is. Hey Deion Sanders, Peggy needs a “D” on her jersey! Dawg....Total badass!"

Deion Sanders delivered a bowl game to Peggy Coppom, just as he promised

Coach Prime has made it clear how much he admires Coppom. While he didn't embrace the fight song and chants like many would've liked -- being preferential to Shedeur Sanders' "Perfect Timing" -- the thing he got right was treating Coppom like royalty.

For that, Boulder will be forever grateful. Regardless of how long he stays at CU.

Sanders told Coppom at the Black and Gold spring game that he'd get the Buffs to six wins and a bowl game. From 4-8 and completely overhauling the roster two years in a row, many saw that as a benchmark they might not reach.

Colorado has risen to the occasion in the Big 12, though. They've lost just once in conference play, to preseason darling K-State, by a touchdown, mostly without Travis Hunter.

Coach Prime promised Coppom a "nice bowl." Perhaps he's not done proving critics wrong that projected his team to go 4-8 again. With four games left, Colorado can continue climbing. And there's no ceiling for CU yet with only two losses.
