Former Colorado football stars Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter are projected top-three NFL draft picks. But could the two team up at the next level, with one franchise trading up to take both of them?

On SI's Jason Jones explored the topic, but didn't sound convinced it was within the realm of possibility this April.

"For generational talents like Shedeur and Colorado teammate Travis Hunter, a poorly managed franchise could jeopardize their potential," Jones wrote.

"Hunter, who has captivated fans with his ability to excel on both offense and defense, could become the NFL’s first true two-way player in decades. Pairing him with Shedeur could revolutionize a franchise, but only if the organization is equipped to support such talent which would require trading up to get both as a package deal."

With the Coach Prime to the NFL rumors all but dead -- with the Dallas Cowboys hiring Brian Schottenheimer and the Las Vegas Raiders bringing Pete Carrol out of retirement -- there's a practically nonexistent chance a team will jump through all of those hoops to pair the two.

If there are worries about Shedeur's ability to lead a franchise, investing in bringing his partner in crime would be a major risk. Do any teams want to take that risk? That's unclear. But it's also unlikely.

Shedeur and Hunter will likely forge their own identities on separate teams spending top-three picks. Maybe Shilo Sanders joins the former, though Coach Prime not coaching in the NFL works against that.
