Colorado has a direct path to the College Football Playoff. It's the Buffs only path to the College Football Playoff.

Win five straight games.

As “Stanford” Steve Coughlin relayed, CU must win its four remaining regular season games and the Big 12 Championship Game after that to have a chance at becoming national champions just two seasons after a two-win campaign.

“Well, it goes back to last week, because Colorado is a team that didn’t play,” Coughlin said (h/t On3). “They were on a bye week. Travis Hunter came to GameDay. It was great to have him on the show. But when you look at what happened in the Big 12 last week, Iowa State lost. And then a team that beat Colorado, who they needed to lose to get back atop the standings was Kansas State. So Colorado got so much help without even playing a game.

“Now there’s a path for them. Win out,” Coughlin said. “They’re going to be favored in every single game the rest of the way. If they win out, they’re going to the playoff and winning the Big 12. So Colorado was the biggest winner. I know they’re all the way down at 20. But there is a path for them to make the playoff.”

Deion Sanders is Coach of the Year for having Colorado in the College football Playoff

Going 2-2 or better should have Deion Sanders in the running for the Coach of the Year Award. Silencing a historic level of hate and making good on those who went out on a limb and said they'd be a contender when it was a crazy thing to say is unrivaled in the coaching realm.

Sanders has done the unthinkable. He's changed the sport fundamentally. The least that can be done is giving him some hardware to make this greatness tangible.
