Colorado’s roster is going to look entirely different than it did this past season as we enter into the new calendar year.

This is going to be a common theme in the new era of college football due to the NIL opportunities and brand endorsement deals.

Team performance also plays a big role.

Colorado has already taken a large hit in the portal after losing star wide receiver Omarion Miller, and it’s hard to fault his decision. He was Colorado’s leading receiver in yards, receptions, and touchdowns this past season.

However, with just one year of eligibility left and Colorado just coming off a 3-9 season, he is looking to prove himself with an established team.

Colorado never seems to lack in the wide receiver department since Deion Sanders took over, so Buffs fans shouldn’t be all too concerned.

One player that is currently on scholarship and should be more of a featured weapon on offense next season is Quentin Gibson.

Quentin Gibson could have a prominent role in Colorado's new offense

His best performance came in the 53-7 blowout loss at Utah, when he caught four passes for 18 yards. Featured primarily in the slot, he caught just 15 passes this past season, accounting for just 71 yards.

For someone as explosive as Gibson is, it’s hard to believe his longest catch was only for 12 yards.

That has to change.

With Julian Lewis in the fold and newly acquired offensive coordinator Brennan Marion incorporating his “Go-Go” offense, things should be looking up for Gibson in year two with Colorado.

The native of Fort Worth, Texas was featured primarily in Colorado’s return game. Although he never took one to the house, he seemed to be on the cusp a couple of times.

He was one of the best in the country as he totaled 597 yards on 25 returns, which was good for 6th in the nation in teams of yardage.

Along with Gibson, Colorado is scheduled to return notable receivers such as Joseph Williams and Quanell Farrakhan Jr. for the 2026 season.

As long as Gibson is in Colorado’s future plans, Coach Prime and company must get the most out of him.
