We are just a couple weeks into February, but the Colorado Buffaloes vs. Georgia Tech football game scheduled for early September now has a confirmed date.

Instead of a traditional Saturday game, the Buffs and Yellow Jackets will square off Thursday night, with kickoff time still to be determined.

Colorado will travel to Atlanta to take on Georgia Tech in the second leg of a home-and-home series. The Yellow Jackets visited Boulder last season and came away with a victory.

This game last season took place on Friday, August 29th and was also broadcast on ESPN.

The Buffs defense was getting torched on the ground, led by Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King who carved them up with his legs.

King racked up 156 of Georgia Tech's 320 rushing yards and sealed the game late with a 45-yard touchdown run to secure a road victory.

Colorado's defensive unit underwent a complete overhaul this past season through the NCAA transfer portal. Instead of targeting Power 4 players who hadn't seen much action, they went after guys with proven production—players who should make an immediate impact.

Georgia Tech's offense will feature a completely new look after hitting the transfer portal hard. They landed key players like quarterback Alberto Mendoza from Indiana (brother of Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza), running back Justice Haynes from Michigan, and wide receiver Jaylen Mbakwe from Alabama, among others.

Even Colorado made significant changes on the offensive side of the ball, bringing in former Sacramento State head coach Brennan Marion to call plays for Deion Sanders.

It will be interesting to see how his 'Go-Go' offense adapts to quarterback Julian Lewis and the new weapons on offense—DeAndre Moore Jr., Kam Perry, and Danny Scudero, to name a few.
