Everything former Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders did seemed to rub opposing fanbases the wrong way. Perhaps nothing stirred up more controversy and angst than the "Shedeur flex", where he would show off his hypothetical - and sometimes real - watch.
Fans hoped that the celebration would move on to the NFL with Sanders. Well, in the immortal words of Lee Corso: not so fast, my friend.
Freshman QB JuJu Lewis, the prize of Colorado's 2025 recruiting class, is attending Big 12 Media Days in Frisco alongside Sanders. A photo was snapped of him in his Colorado jersey imitating Sanders' infamous celebration:

Even with Sanders in Cleveland, Lewis looks ready to pick up the torch and carry on the celebration that got so many adults in their feelings the last two seasons.
Lewis carries himself with a similar confidence, and it's easy to see how he made his way to Boulder. He was one of the top QBs in the country last season in high school, ranking as a consensus 4-star prospect, and the No. 6 QB in the country according to the 247 composite.
Freshman JuJu Lewis is battling for the Colorado starting QB job
While the expectation is that Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter will be Colorado's starting QB this fall, it's far from a sure thing.
Salter was brought in to be a bridge for Lewis, who is the future face of the Colorado program. But he is battling to take Salter's job away immediately. It's not a coincidence that Sanders brought both QBs with him to Frisco for Big 12 Media Days. It's a legitimate competition, and he hasn't made a decision yet on which QB will start.
It will probably be Salter, who has plenty of experience from his time with Liberty. But he could have a short leash. After an incredible 2023 season, Salter regressed considerably last season for the Flames. Playing in the Big 12 will be a massive step-up in competition, though he will have more talent surrounding him than he did at Liberty.
But Lewis is an incredibly talented prospect, one who had offers from all the major programs. He was once a USC commitment before decommitting from them and ultimately choosing the Buffaloes. Say what you want about Lincoln Riley as a football coach, but his QB acumen has never really been questioned.
Lewis didn't come to Boulder to sit on the bench for long. Even if Salter is the starter, don't be surprised if Sanders and OC Pat Shurmur have a "JuJu" package as well to get the talented young freshman on the field.
