The Colorado Buffaloes' wide receiver room is undergoing a major transition, with their top four pass-catchers from last season moving on. While there are some new additions, the room largely consists of returning players looking to step up. With a fresh quarterback situation, this spring will be crucial for receivers looking to cement their roles.
One of the most intriguing players to watch is Omarion Miller, who showed flashes of brilliance last season. Despite suffering an injury late in the year, Miller still managed to make plays, proving his potential. He appears to be on track for a full return, looking explosive in recent workout clips. If healthy, he will be a strong candidate to lead this group.

Joseph Williams is another name we are predicting will have a huge year. The transfer from Tulsa brings an electric playstyle and has the ability to stretch the field. With Miller working his way back, Williams has a great opportunity to prove himself as a top target. There’s a chance he emerges from spring ball as the most dynamic receiver on the roster.
Additionally, Terrell Timmons Jr. has an opportunity to carve out a major role. He flashed potential in past practices but struggled with injuries last year. If he can stay healthy and build chemistry with the new quarterbacks, he could become a reliable target. Having a dependable receiver is crucial for a new quarterback, and Timmons has the skill set to be that security blanket.
Two other players to watch are Kam Mikell and Dre'lon Miller, both of whom could see expanded roles in unique offensive packages. Their versatility makes them candidates for a “wide back” role, where they can be utilized in both the run and pass game.
With a mix of young talent, transfers, and returning players looking to take the next step, this wide receiver competition will be one of the most compelling storylines of spring football. Whoever steps up will play a major role in shaping the Buffs' offense in 2025.
