A to Z Sports' Zach Ragan is still upset with Deion Sanders and his Colorado football program for enticing OT Jordan Seaton to join him in Boulder during the offseason instead of taking the millions in NIL dollars Tennessee was offering.

"...the Vols have to be better along the offensive line if they're going to have a chance to reach the playoff in December," Ragan wrote. "Having Seaton, an obviously elite talent, on the roster would certainly help. It would provide Tennessee with elite depth and it would give the Vols a better option if Heard or Campbell have to leave to a game (either due to injury or fatigue).

"You can't win every recruiting battle. And Tennessee did everything they could to land Seaton. The allure of playing for Coach Prime (and a middling Colorado program), however, was too much for Tennessee to overcome."

Note the descriptor "middling" to describe Coach Prime's Buffs. That's a cope for the ages. Especially with Tennessee only one game better than CU on the season midway through the 2024 campaign.

The Vols losing to Arkansas has upended the expectations in Knoxville. With Alabama and Georgia on the schedule, three losses may just keep Tennessee out of College Football Playoff consideration. Even Vanderbilt in Nashville is far from a guarantee if we're keeping it a buck.

Jordan Seaton helped revive Colorado football's OL after disastrous 2023 season

After the five sacks Colorado gave up against Nebraska, it seemed like the same offensive line problems that plagued the Buffs in 2023 would be present again in 2024. But while CU isn't perfect in pass protection, they are significantly better this season.

Why is that? Well, that's tough to answer. The group has gelled enough to keep Shedeur Sanders upright, and with that have come wins. That was always going to be the formula, but the ingredients are actually mixing well.

That's made all the difference. Seaton's job is weakside pass protection, so his is one of the most important positions on the OL. He's undoubtedly made the Buffs a better team.

Poor Tennessee. They can only wish they were enticing enough to out-recruit Coach Prime's "middling" Buffs.

By the way, let's revisit that label in December.
