It was only a matter of time before Deion Sanders got Colorado rolling on the recruiting trail. It has been a slow start to the 2026 cycle, with Coach Prime's recent health issues keeping him from being as aggressive as he would normally be in pursuit of prospects.

The Buffaloes have built some recent momentum with a few commitments, none bigger than 4-star LB Rodney Colton Jr. But Sanders and his staff are still big-game hunting. While there are still some highly-regarded uncommitted prospects out there, Colorado will also be looking to flip prospects who have already committed.

On Tuesday, one of those flip targets was revealed. 4-star WR Daniel Odom, who committed to Oklahoma back in January, will take an in-season visit to Boulder to catch a Colorado game this fall.

Odom, a California native, is the No. 40 ranked WR in the 2026 class, per the 247 composite. He reported an offer from the Buffaloes back in May, and his decision to take a gameday visit this fall puts Colorado in contention for his services, and places Odom on flip watch.

Odom could flip to Colorado this fall

Via SI, Odom reportedly told Adam Gorney with Rivals his thought process on making the trip to Boulder for a game.

“I just want to see the atmosphere and see the place and get the experience. I don’t want to look back and say, ‘I could have gone there. That could have been something."

Those comments certainly sound like someone who has high interest in playing for Coach Prime at Colorado. The gameday atmosphere at Folsom Field has been something special since Sanders arrived in Boulder. Odom will likely be blown away by it when he sees it in person, which will make it difficult for Brent Venables and the Sooners to hang onto him.

Colorado can also pitch a young and talented QB in JuJu Lewis, who is the future of the program, whether or not he starts this year. Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter is expected to be the bridge QB for 2025, but it will be Lewis' job moving forward in 2026 and beyond.

The Buffaloes currently do not hold a commitment from a WR in this cycle, making Odom that much more of a priority. Sanders and the staff will be putting on the full court press to flip the Oklahoma commitment, and his decision to take a visit is a big step in that becoming a reality.
