The Oregon Duck mascot invited a ton of trouble when he made a case for Ashton Jeanty's Heisman odds on the Pat McAfee Show by belittling Travis Hunter's accomplishments this season; claiming snaps aren't a stat.
Hardly the popcorn-munching spectator, Deion Sanders Jr. jumped into the scene to chastise the Oregon Duck for talking ill of another player, let alone one from his team.
"Yall are the #1 in the nation & yall whooped our ass last year… why tf is bro on there worried about us? Shit weird as hell," Sanders tweeted sassily, issuing a daring reply to the Oregon Duck's unapologetic "snaps ain't a stat though," comment.
Pat McAfee's reaction to the Oregon mascot's written verdict on his slate was the cherry on top of the drama unfolding. The analyst jumped straight to Hunter's defense and pulled an uno reverse on the Oregon Duck with stinging punches.
"114 plays a game. If you're doing a 100 of them Duck. How many miles did you fly here? Yeah unbelievable," McAfee said to the Duck. "The Duck couldn't even make it here from Oregon without stopping two times probably."
Jeanty is as competitive as it gets in clinching the Heisman; he might even solidify his odds when playing in the Mountain West Championship Game. Hunter's play this season should be enough to rest his case, though.
If he doesn't, the Buffs being excluded from the Big 12 Championship Game could ultimately be a reason voters decide on Jeanty for the Heisman instead.
