WFAN's Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti don't believe Deion Sanders will allow Shedeur Sanders to go to the Cleveland Browns with the No. 2 pick in the 2025 NFL draft -- projecting Coach Prime to follow through on his promise that his son will "be an Eli" and not go to certain teams.
Esiason doesn't believe the Tennessee Titans are a good fit for the "Grown QB" either.
“If Deion is controlling what’s going on, there is no way he lets Shedeur Sanders go to the Cleveland Browns. You can’t,” Gio said. “If I were Shedeur Sanders, I would rather go to the Jets. That’s saying something.
“They may want to do it, but Deion is not gonna let that happen.”
“Right now, I would say he’s more explosive, meaning the running aspect of his game is significant,” Boomer said of Cam Ward over Sanders. “He’s a terrific athlete. I don’t know how polished he is either. A lot of these guys that come out, you just never know. I didn’t know Bo Nix was going to be this successful, but I knew he was going to the right coach. So these guys have got to get to the right spot with the right coaches.
“If you ask me, Tennessee and Cleveland…if I were Shedeur Sanders and Deion, I would not want to go there.”
The Titans are reportedly enamored with Ward, so that might make Tennessee a non-starter for Shedeur. But the Browns are in a position to extract maximum value from teams while also drafting a player like Travis Hunter who is a fit on all 32 teams due to his versatility.
As the draft approaches, we'll see what comes out of the Sanders camp. It may be quiet for all we know.
Just know that moves are being made behind the scenes, though. Deion will have his kids where he wants. Maybe he'll even join them.
