Deion Sanders said he'd only take an NFL job to coach his son Shedeur. Perhaps Coach Prime can go one more round in Boulder and reunite with the "Grown QB" in 2026 if Shedeur goes No. 1 overall in the 2025 draft.
CBS Sports' John Breech pitched the idea of the Tennessee Titans considering the possibility if Brian Callahan flames out in 2025 should the franchise select Shedeur.
"The Titans have the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft and they need a quarterback, so it wouldn't be surprising at all to see them take Shedeur. In that situation, if the Titans struggle during Shedeur's rookie year, that could lead them to fire Brian Callahan. If that happens, the Titans would be in the market for a new head coach in 2026 and that's where Deion would come in. The Titans have already proven that they're willing to fire anyone at any time with one head coach (Mike Vrabel) and two general managers (Jon Robinson and Ran Carthon) fired over the past 25 months. If owner Amy Adams-Strunk believes that pairing Shedeur with his dad would help the franchise, then it wouldn't be surprising at all to see her let Callahan go if the Titans crash out in 2025," Breech wrote.
If Shedeur were to fall in the draft, the Las Vegas Raiders could be an option with the No. 6 overall pick. OutKick's Armando Salguero relayed the Raiders being the one team that can sway Coach Prime to leave CU for the NFL in a few months.
"The Raiders, per sources, are gathering their coach interview list. There has been no indication one way or the other if Sanders is on that list," Salguero wrote.
"That would be the team that makes the most sense for a Shedeur and elder Sanders reunion in the NFL.
"There's more uncertainty. Some team may decide to trade up with the Patriots or Browns or even Tennessee (if they decide to commit to Will Levis at quarterback) to get their picks. But that won't happen until late March or April and those unknown teams trading up will have hired coaches by then that did not need certainty of having Shedeur Sanders on the team."
Shedeur's landing spot this April could determine if, or how quickly, Deion comes to the NFL. Stay tuned.
