Deion Sanders skeptical of CSU players' NIL claims
Deion Sanders asked the obvious question no one seemed to weeks after CSU QB Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi and WR Tory Horton claimed they were offered $600,000 in NIL to transfer from the Rams: why didn't they take it if that were actually true?
"Two guys that we played several weeks ago from Colorado State, they said they were offered how much in the portal? How are you offered $600,000 and you didn't get in the portal? Why can none of y'all ask that question? How are you offered $600,000 but you didn't get in the portal? I got time today," Sanders said.
Jay Norvell started the rumor back at Mountain West media days in July that someone from Kansas State offered his QB that much to transfer.
"[Fowler-Nicolosi] said that a guy from Kansas State called and offered him $600,000 [if he entered the transfer portal] because they lost their quarterback," Novell said (h/t Sports Illustrated). "I'm not accusing Kansas State of anything, I'm just telling you what the kid told me. If they don't want their name thrown in it, I think they should probably get a handle on their people."
Deion Sanders has no love lost for Brayden Fowler-Nicolosi, CSU
Sanders isn't a fan of CSU by any stretch. Between the Rams' head coach, the head coach's wife, and the QB, it isn't hard to see why.
Norvell called out how his mother raised him ahead of the 2023 Rocky Mountain Showdown and Norvell's wife claimed Shedeur Sanders was acting like a "b****" in December. Most recently, Coach Prime claimed Fowler-Nicolosi was "stupid" for making a "too small" gesture at Travis Hunter during a 28-9 Buffs win in Week 3.
It's not shocking to see Sanders have the time for CSU. He has bad blood for that program that's been well-earned.
