Having demonstrated unwavering loyalty as a Buff through and through, Ryan Staub is now weighing his options through the NCAA transfer portal to find a new home.
Surprisingly, he's attracting interest from top level schools.

He has drawn interest from Ohio State, Kentucky and Cincinnati.
Has two years of eligibility remaining.@1045espn @LASportsDotNet
With two years of eligibility left, you would think Staub would want to go to a school where he can compete for a starting position out of the gate.
Looking at his current school choices, it's pretty clear he's positioning himself for a backup role rather than starting status.
Injuries are part of the game, but he's always been ready when called upon.
2025 was a weird one for Staub, who found himself as just one of the three quarterbacks rotating into the Delaware game during that second week.

Head coach Deion Sanders named Staub the starter against Houston week three, selecting him over Salter and Lewis.
Staub just couldn't find his rhythm that day, connecting on 19-of-35 attempts for 204 yards while tossing a lone touchdown against two costly interceptions.
Coach Prime reinstated Salter as starter the next week, relegating Staub to just two more appearances all season during blowouts against Utah and Arizona.
Colorado began a new era by starting true freshman Julian Lewis at quarterback against West Virginia.
Staub showed true professionalism in Boulder. May he find a program where he can lead—either playing, mentoring the starter, or ready when his number is called upon.
