It's official. Despite a week of some Buffs fans' hopes for Jordan Seaton's return to Boulder, the former five-star recruit has chosen to join Lane Kiffin at Louisiana State University.

Seaton planned to visit Oregon Monday night, but speculation suggests he declined or canceled the reservation as LSU pressed for his commitment.

Lanning eventually met with Seaton and his uncle, though it took nearly a week for him to decide. They seemed to be playing hardball over the money, dragging things out far longer than necessary.

Buffs fans grew hopeful after Jayvon McFadden, Seaton's cousin, committed to Colorado Sunday. Seaton had previously sent a tweet hinting that the cousins should play together when McFadden entered the portal.

As a red shirt freshman, McFadden—rated a four-star recruit by 247Sports Composite Rankings—saw limited action with the Buckeyes, logging just 15 snaps exclusively at right guard.

He will have four years of eligibility remaining.

While Seaton's exit has left many fans disgruntled, let's not forget the leap of faith he took when he initially chose Colorado. It was a decision that shocked many and gave the Colorado faithful hope.

Seaton rejected offers from Ohio State, Oregon, Alabama, Florida, and Tennessee, choosing the struggling Buffs program with hopes of revitalizing it.

He quickly became a key starter in 2024, earning Freshman All-American honors and College Football News Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

Despite needing improvement as a run blocker, he stands among college football's elite pass-blocking tackles.

Make no mistake that NIL factored into Seaton's LSU choice, but with one year until NFL Draft eligibility, he likely prioritized joining a playoff contender.

Coach Prime's staff hasn't finished recruiting, but winter commitments indicate they're prioritizing production and steering in the right direction.
