With Sunday night's win over the Los Angeles Rams, the Seattle Seahawks are heading to Super Bowl LX to face the New England Patriots.

That said, former Colorado Buffaloes tight end Brady Russell will represent the Buffs on the NFL's biggest stage.

Russell began his collegiate career as a walk-on at CU, then earned his way onto scholarship and eventually became team captain.

Russell earned the 2022 Buffalo Heart Award—an annual fan-voted honor given since 1998 to players who best exemplify heart, desire, determination, and grit throughout the season.

Russell played defensive end at Fossil Ridge High School in Fort Collins, Colorado before converting to tight end in college.

During his time at Colorado (2017-2022), the tight end played in 42 games with 32 starts, hauling in 67 catches for 709 yards and three touchdowns.

Russell signed with the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent in 2023 before joining the Seattle Seahawks. He's become a key contributor on special teams and at fullback for Seattle.

Russell suffered an injury during Sunday night's NFC Championship victory over the Rams and was ruled out with a hand injury. He was later spotted wearing a cast on his left hand. Let's hope this doesn't sideline him for the biggest game of his career.

Among former Buffs, the AFC's New England Patriots roster includes a former 4-star recruit who transferred to Oregon in 2022.

Christian Gonzalez was one of the most skilled players on Colorado's roster during the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

After enduring a 4-8 season in 2021, Gonzalez transferred from Colorado to Oregon, following his position coach Demetrice Martin, who had joined Dan Lanning's new staff in Eugene.

No matter how the game plays out on February 8th, a former Buff is going to walk away with the Lombardi Trophy.
