Former Buffs QB gives Colorado football haters the double bird, praises Deion Sanders

Joel Klatt didn't give critics of Colorado football an actual double bird, but his words to those who doubted Deion Sanders had the same energy. Klatt unleashed a feiry rant on his show, "The Joel Klatt Show: A College Football Podcast," praising Coach Prime's immediate rebuild and claiming that he is an "unequivocal success."

"Deion Sanders gets hired, he brings his son Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter, he talked a big game about the transfer portal, and he has rebuilt that entire program," Klatt said. "Deion Sanders has been an unequivocal success, and I mean home run success. There is no other way to categorize it. All of you that want to take shots because you don't like his style now have to sit there and watch his team play tough at the line of scrimmage, do a better job at the offensive line running the football and taking care of the ball and now they're 6-2.

"Where are all of you now that think Deion is a joke? Where are all of you now that think Deion is only in it for himself? This guy can coach, and I'm glad he's going it at Colorado."

Deion Sanders can do no wrong at Colorado football now

If the Buffs lose their last four games? This season is still a success. Anything short of sitting Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter during their bowl game, one that Coach Prime promised Miss Peggy would be a nice bowl game, makes 2024 a smashing success at CU.

Colorado wasn't a football town, but it is now. Coach Prime not only brought interest back to his program, but he also brought prestige. He could now more easily sell recruits on the culture, and a potential pay cut, with his proof of concept.

Klatt is right. "Prime Time" haters are in hibernation. Probably permanently until Sanders gives them a reason to bark.

But if he now knows what to look for in recruits and continue to reel in 5-stars like Jordan Seaton and Hunter, there may not be a reason to bark for a long time.
