Four-star CB Preston Ashley is coming to Boulder — and the Buffs are right in it

June 20. Mark it down.

Preston Ashley, the four-star cornerback out of Brandon, Mississippi, has locked in his final official visit. He’ll be in Boulder on June 20, and you better believe this is more than just a sightseeing trip.

Right now, it’s looking like a two-team race between Auburn and Colorado. Auburn gets him a week earlier (June 13), but if you’ve been paying attention to how Coach Prime operates, you know the last visit can mean everything.

Ashley’s not the biggest corner in the class — listed at 5-10, 170 — but he plays with that classic chip-on-the-shoulder edge. Physical, fast, and smart. The type of player who would’ve fit right in with the Buffs last year.

And Colorado needs guys like him. After giving up nearly 224 passing yards per game in their first Big 12 season, the Buffs have to keep stacking the secondary. Ashley checks all the boxes.

He’s already picked up 22 offers, but Colorado made a real impression when they extended one in early March. That momentum is real.

No Crystal Ball predictions yet, but if Boulder can bring the heat on June 20 — the Flatirons, the atmosphere, the Prime Effect — CU just might pull this off.
