Oscar Rios, one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class, is making the rounds on his official visits, and Colorado fans have reason to stay hopeful.
The Downey (Calif.) product is set to visit Boulder on June 20, making Colorado his last stop in the cycle. While Oklahoma State, by many reports, is currently leading the race, Kentucky and Virginia Tech are also in the mix.
Colorado head coach Deion Sanders has built a reputation for landing top-tier talent, and Rios would be a massive addition to the Buffs' future quarterback room. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound prospect put up video game numbers last season, completing 73% of his passes while flashing his dual-threat ability. He threw for 2,554 yards and 22 touchdowns while adding 735 yards and 11 rushing scores.
Rios is a high-ceiling player with a smooth throwing motion, a quick release, and elite accuracy down the field. His athleticism allows him to extend plays and stress defenses with his legs, making him an ideal fit for a modern spread offense. With a frame that can still add muscle, I believe he has the physical tools to be a top-tier college quarterback.
While Oklahoma State appears to be in the driver’s seat, the fact that Rios is visiting Boulder last is an encouraging sign. Prime Time has closed strong on top recruits before—could he do it again with Rios?
