Travis Hunter isn’t just ready for the NFL. He’s telling the league how to introduce him.
In a recent CBS Sports interview with former Titans GM Ran Carthon, Hunter delivered his draft-day wish list. Then, he took to Twitter to double down:
"He better say wide receiver and DB."Travis Hunter on @CBSSportsCFB
That’s not a request. That’s a statement.
The 2024 Heisman winner absolutely earned the right to say that. Last season, he torched Big 12 defenses with 95 catches, 1,258 yards, and 15 touchdowns. On the other side of the ball, he added 35 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 15 passes defended—playing more snaps than most players see in two careers.
The NFL world is split. Some say he should focus on one position to master it. Others, including Deion Sanders, believe he can thrive on both sides because the pro game is slower and less physical than college ball.
Shady McCoy called him a two-for-one McDonald’s deal. Deion called him built for the league. And Travis? He just wants Roger Goodell to get the intro right.
One card. Two positions. History in the making.
Whoever drafts Travis Hunter isn’t just getting a weapon—they’re getting a unicorn. The least the commissioner can do is read the full stat sheet.
