How is Chidozie Nwankwo not on an NFL roster right now?

Nwankwo was one of the most consistent forces on that Colorado defense in 2024. Every week, he was making plays: blowing up third downs, swallowing double teams, forcing fumbles, and setting the tone in the middle.

The Colorado defensive tackle did everything right. He transferred in from Houston and immediately became a force for the Buffs in 2024. He played in the Hula Bowl and was All-Big 12 Honorable Mention Defensive Lineman of the Year.

And we’re not just talking numbers here. Warren Sapp put his name behind Nwankwo—saying, "You find a better nose tackle in America, let me see him." That should mean something.

But here we are, post-draft, and I haven't seen Nwankwo signed anywhere. No minicamp invite. No UDFA deal. Nothing. Meanwhile, teams are filling out 90-man rosters with guys who haven’t even come close to the kind of production or tape Nwankwo put together.

Yes, he’s 5-foot-11. No, he doesn’t “look” like your prototype. But that’s what makes him so good—he’s low to the ground and quick off the snap. He’s a nightmare for centers to deal with. Every locker room needs a guy like him.

Nwankwo should already be in an NFL building. Some team needs to wake up and give him a shot.
