This is yet another classic case of social media doing too much, too fast.

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders denied reports this week that he purchased a $500,000 custom Rolls-Royce in a Browns-themed colorway.

The viral story gained traction after a YouTube video from Deion Sanders Jr., Shedeur’s brother, featured footage of an olive green Rolls-Royce with orange accents and included a FaceTime call with Shedeur. The car, reportedly valued at over half a million dollars, was widely interpreted as a celebratory purchase tied to Shedeur's recent rookie contract signing with the Browns.

However, Shedeur refuted the claim directly via Twitter/X.

Coach Prime, also commented on the situation, posting simply: “LIES!” on Instagram, reinforcing the denial of the story.

Let’s be honest: that Rolls-Royce didn’t even look like a Browns car

This can be so annoying being a part of the media. The rumor might’ve caught fire, but anyone who actually saw the car had to do a double take.

The Rolls-Royce that sparked all this drama didn't seem very orange and brown—not even close. It was olive green with a matte finish and some orange detailing. If anything, it looked more military-inspired than Cleveland-themed.

We were skeptical of the idea that this was a “custom Browns Rolls-Royce." Browns fans know the color scheme: burnt orange, deep brown, maybe some white trim. This? It was more like something you’d see at a fashion show in L.A. than outside FirstEnergy Stadium.

And Shedeur wasn’t even in the driver’s seat. He appeared in the video on FaceTime. No keys. No delivery. Just a conversation.

So when Shedeur came out and called it a lie, it actually makes a lot of sense. There’s nothing “Browns” about the car except a bit of orange.

Next Up: OTAs begin today May 27

The next opportunity to see Shedeur compete will be during Browns OTAs from May 27–29 and June 3–5. While live contact isn’t allowed, 7-on-7 and 11-on-11 drills will give him more chances to climb the depth chart.
