Just when it feels like Colorado's transfer portal momentum can't get any hotter, Deion Sanders turned up the heat even more by bringing in one of the most productive linebackers still available—BYU transfer Harrison Taggart.

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound linebacker made the trip to Boulder this week, and let me tell you—this is a visit that matters. In 2024, the former four-star recruit put up 69 tackles, a sack, a forced fumble, a recovery, an interception, and three pass deflections for the Cougars.
Taggart started his college journey at Oregon before transferring to BYU, where he redshirted his first season. But last fall, he came alive. He was flying all over the field for the Cougars and finished second on the team in total tackles.
Now, he’s hunting for a new home—and Colorado should be the perfect fit.
With Nikhai Hill-Green and Lavonta Bentley moving on, the Buffs have a serious need at linebacker. Coach Prime knows it, and if Taggart's visit is any sign, maybe he knows it too.
However, Colorado’s not alone in this pursuit. Taggart has already taken visits to NC State and Cal, and is looking like this is going to be a three-horse race.
Imagine Taggart anchoring the middle of the defense next fall. That energy, that production, that leadership—it’s exactly what Colorado needs to take the next step.
