Among the latest to endorse Coach Prime's joint spring game concept is former Colorado quarterback and Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt.

On yesterday's episode of The Joel Klatt Show, the CU alum praised Sanders for pushing an idea that many players have long wished for.

“Deion is exactly right here,” Klatt said. “This is something that we used to talk about as players… we got so sick and tired of just practicing against ourselves.”

Klatt recalled how monotonous spring football became during his own playing days, a sentiment Sanders also shared when advocating for the change. Colorado and Syracuse have reportedly even submitted paperwork to the NCAA to explore making the concept a reality.

While Klatt admitted that logistical challenges—such as injury concerns and roster depth—could slow the idea's adoption, he remains optimistic.

“Of all the things that are trying to get thrown out there in college football, this one seems like, can we do that?” Klatt said. “It seems a little bit more far-fetched, but hopefully it’s not.”

With influential voices like Klatt backing the proposal, Sanders’ vision of joint spring practices might not be as far-fetched as some think. If the NCAA listens, college football could be in for a major shift.

For now, the Buffaloes will play their traditional intrasquad spring game on April 19, but the conversation is far from over.
