Lack of NFL combine representation underscores Colorado's 2025 issues

Following a disappointing third season under head coach Deion Sanders, Colorado had zero players invited to the 2026 NFL Scouting Combine.

Arden Walker and Preston Hodge led several Buffs declaring for the NFL Draft this offseason, joined by quarterback Kaidon Salter, who had a difficult senior season.

Walker, a Cherry Creek High School graduate, transferred from Missouri to Colorado in 2023 for Coach Prime's first year in Boulder.

The edge rusher broke out during Colorado's 9-4 season in 2024 with 33 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 6.5 tackles for loss. PFF ranked him among the Big 12's top edge rushers that season.

Walker recorded the program's first safety since 2011 in the Wyoming win.

Hodge started all nine games he played in 2024 before an injury sidelined him for the season's final four games. He recorded 33 tackles, seven pass breakups, and two interceptions alongside Travis Hunter, DJ McKinney, and Colton Hood in a loaded secondary.

The corner started all 12 games in 2025, recording 56 tackles (third on team), 13 pass breakups, three tackles for loss, and one interception.

Former Colorado Buffaloes receiver Jordyn Tyson earned his invite alongside 300+ players. As a projected top ten pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, his invitation was a no- brainer.

The standout wide receiver earned 2025 AP All-America Third Team honors despite playing through injuries all year.

In nine games, he posted 61 catches, 711 yards, and eight touchdowns. In 2024, he exploded with 75 receptions, 1,101 yards, and 10 touchdowns, helping Arizona State reach the College Football Playoffs.

He broke his collarbone in the Nov. 30, 2024 Territorial Cup victory over Arizona, ending his season and eliminating any postseason hopes.

Tyson could potentially land with the Cleveland Browns, where former Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders is currently under center.

Cleveland holds the 6th and 24th overall picks in the first round.
