The Buffalo Bills just got a little more exciting with the signing of former Colorado Buffaloes standout Laviska Shenault Jr. While his NFL career has been turbulent, bouncing between five teams in six years, Shenault now has a golden opportunity to contribute to a legitimate Super Bowl contender.
Bills Mafia had its eye on Shenault back in the 2020 NFL Draft, but the Jaguars snagged him early in the second round. He showed flashes of brilliance in Jacksonville but never quite found the right system. Stints with the Panthers, Seahawks, and Chargers didn’t do much to boost his career, though he carved out a role as a capable return specialist. In 2024, he returned 16 kicks for 459 yards and took one to the house for 97 yards.
Now, Shenault is in the perfect situation. Buffalo, a team that could win the Super Bowl this year (hopefully). Buffalo offers him the best shot at revitalizing his career. He won’t be asked to be the WR1, but his ability to contribute on special teams and in creative offensive packages could make him valuable to Buffalo. Plus, he’s finally on a winning team.
With Josh Allen slinging the rock and the Bills’ eyes set on a Super Bowl, Shenault’s story might be far from over.
For Colorado fans, it’s great to see a Buff on one of the NFL’s top teams. Shenault was a star in Boulder, racking up 1,900 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in his collegiate career. Now, he gets a fresh start in Buffalo—one that could finally unlock his full potential.
