NBA Hall of Famer and TV personality Shaquille O’Neal has joined the growing list of celebrities publicly supporting Travis Hunter, the former Colorado Buffaloes standout who was drafted No. 2 overall by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the 2025 NFL Draft.

O’Neal was recently photographed holding a Hunter Jaguars jersey while wearing a Jacksonville chain and helmet, a gesture that quickly went viral on the official NFL page on X.

Since his selection, the buzz around the former Buff has only grown. According to the NFL Shop, Hunter’s jersey is currently the top-selling rookie jersey in the league, surpassing No. 1 overall pick Cam Ward (Tennessee Titans) and fellow former Colorado teammate Shedeur Sanders (Cleveland Browns), who sits in third.

The Jaguars held rookie minicamp last week at the Miller Electric Center, where Hunter took part in both offensive and defensive drills. The organization has already confirmed they plan to give him the opportunity to play on both sides of the ball, a continuation of the role he embraced at Colorado.

Hunter’s next steps include OTAs beginning May 19, followed by mandatory minicamp starting June 10.

O’Neal, who began his NBA career in Florida with the Orlando Magic and later won a championship with the Miami Heat, appears to be aligning his NFL fandom with the state once again—this time through support of Hunter and the Jaguars.

This is a signal that Hunter’s brand is extending beyond football. The former Colorado star is quickly becoming a crossover figure in sports culture, and his impact is being felt well before he plays his first NFL snap.
