Deion Sanders has it too good as Colorado football's head coach to leave Boulder. That's not hard to find, just like "Prime Time," but it's still something some push. Stephen A. Smith and USA Today's Blake Toppmeyer are the culprits there.
On3's Phillip Dukes, a consistent pro-Coach Prime voice at the publication, reiterated all the reasons Sanders has to stay at CU over the long haul; mainly, a wide-open Big 12 and a recruiting system that allows a school in the Rocky Mountains to recruit top talent from Florida.
“If you Deion Sanders, why would you leave Colorado? You in the Big 12, right. You're in a conference where it's more balanced, and you have the potential to be that powerhouse, because nobody in that conference can recruit with the national imprint the way Colorado does," Dukes said. "Nobody in that conference can provide the type of exposure that Colorado can. Why would you leave?
“... So, I don't see him leaving, and I think that when you look how Colorado is set up they got everything. They got the facilities, bro. Like I said, they got the NIL .”
Colorado football recruiting can be sustainable under Deion Sanders
We know the top talent from the state of Florida are funneling to Boulder. We also know that the Buffs can win in the Big 12. Sanders is successful now at a Power 4 program, and there are only a handful that are truly above CU in terms of resources. And there's no guarantee an Alabama, Ohio State, or Texas would ever employ Coach Prime.
At this point, "Prime Time" is ingrained at the University of Colorado Boulder. Sanders got what he was looking for and is building memories with his sons and a fanbase that will always represent the most notable parts of their collegiate experience.
Leaving is most certainly the last thing on his mind right now.
