Panthers analyst shares shockingly blunt take on Deion Sanders banning Shedeur from Carolina

On SI's Tim Weaver doesn't even blame Deion Sanders for being against his son, Shedeur, going to the Carolina Panthers in the 2025 NFL draft; citing Bryce Young's inability to flourish there after a Heisman-winning career at Alabama and the general inability of the franchise to replace Cam Newton at QB.

Dan Orlovsky reported that Coach Prime is against the "Grown QB" going to Carolina or the Cleveland Browns.

"This is pretty tough for Panthers fans to hear, but at this point it's difficult to blame Deion or any other parent of a QB prospect for not wanting them to get drafted by this franchise," Weaver said.

"Bryce Young still has time (or at least one more start) to show some progress, but it looks like he's about to become another failed project at quarterback, the 214th since Cam Newton's foot injury that ended his time at QB1. Along the way it looks like the Panthers gave up too early on both Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield, while also swinging and missing badly on several others like Teddy Bridgewater."

Deion Sanders taking page out of the Archie Manning playbook

Deion is the biggest celebrity coach in the world. That alone was going to give him the clout to effectively strongarm Shedeur to any NFL franchise he wants. But let's not forget that Archie Manning set this precedent steering Eli Manning away from the San Diego Chargers and into the arms of the New York Giants.

Blame the Mannings. Let's not forget that Coach Prime even coined the phrase "be an Eli" after the Mannings did this.

Don't be shocked when the Sanders family is ripped for something the Mannings pulled two decades ago. It's a double standard the label "Prime Time" gets you.
