Paul Finebaum drags rumor Deion Sanders already denied out of the woodwork
Paul Finebaum dug out an old rumor on November 11 regarding Deion Sanders' next coaching job after leaving Colorado: the Dallas Cowboys. With the Cowboys losing 34-6 to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 10 of the NFL, and Coach Prime's Buffs blowing out Texas Tech, Finebaum figured he'd play off the two results and pull a completely unlikely rumor out of thin air.
“Well listen, I never really liked the Colorado job, but he’s made the most out of it,” Finebaum said on The Matt Barrie Show. “It’s been a struggle. He’s already beaten the odds. It’s, you know, a good time to get out. Buy low, sell high. I’m not a broker, but that’s not hard to figure out, and it’s hard to imagine. There’s just too many complications out there and you are, I mean, he’s on a big stage. But it’s nothing compared to what he would be, first of all, there is nothing that compares to Dallas.
“It’s the biggest franchise in all sports when it comes to attention.”
Coach Prime said he has no desire or ambition to coach in the NFL.
“I don't have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL,” Sanders told SI.com. “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”
Deion Sanders almost definitely staying with Colorado with imminent Julian Lewis flip
If Sanders is planning on leaving for the Cowboys, or anywhere else for that matter, he's certainly not acting like it.
Coach Prime was given a crystal ball to flip Julian Lewis from USC, finding the true successor to Shedeur Sanders under center in Boulder.
The public seems unwilling to embrace Sanders at CU. Luckily, Lewis is the most important person to determine his future, and it seems like the Carrolton star just clinched Coach Prime sticking around for years to come.
