2024 Colorado Buffaloes sideline gear available now
Coach Prime's first year with the Colorado Buffaloes was certainly a roller coaster. Sanders led the team to a 4-8 record but the Buffs were surrounded by a level of hype they haven't seen since the 1990's.
A season-opening victory over TCU had America talking about Prime, quarterback Shedeur Sanders and wide receiver/cornerback Travis Hunter.
Now, entering the 2024-25 season, Sanders could solidify his status as the No. 1 NFL Draft pick with a good campaign. In order for that to happen, Colorado's offensive line play and running attack will need to improve dramatically.
The Buffs led the nation in sacks allowed last year and had one of the worst rushing attacks in the country. So the team hired Pat Shurmur to take over the offense. Shurmur's pro-style offensive scheme should keep Sanders upright more
Defensively, Colorado simply must get better. The Buffaloes allowed 453 yards and 35 points per game last season.
The team is moving to a 4-2-5 defense and welcomes a trio of defensive line transfers: Sam Okunlola, BJ Green and Quency Wiggins. All three with get plenty of playing time up front.
In the secondary, everything revolves around Hunter. He's probably the most versatile player in the nation (there are rumors he might even kick for Colorado) and is a virtual lock for a top three pick in the NFL Draft.
We're counting down the days for the season-opener, not just because of the hype surrounding the program, but because of the matchup.
See, North Dakota State is coming to town. The Bisons have a knack for rolling into D-1 programs and winning games. If... if... that happens on August 31 then it'll open up a whole new can of worms for Coach Prime.
In the meantime, let's gear up for the new season.
