3 biggest losses for Colorado in the transfer portal

Coach Prime did a good job keeping his roster intact this offseason, but according to FanSided college football writer Josh Yourish, these three losses will impact the 2024 Buffaloes' quest to reach bowl eligibility.

Colorado’s struggles in the run game had more to do with the offensive line than the running backs, but Hankerson and Dylan Edwards weren’t good enough for the rushing attack to work despite the O-line’s deficiencies. Few running backs are that good, and Hankerson managed to average 4.1 yards per carry running behind that line, so his loss will be felt.

Edwards was the leading rusher by two yards, but Hankerson had two more carries than his fellow running back. It was a very even split in the backfield, so losing one-half of a duo leaves the Buffs very thin in the backfield.

Coach Prime did not add a running back in the portal, but four-star athlete Kamron Mikell might be the answer at the position along with Edwards if Colorado chooses to play him on offense instead of the secondary.
