Rich Eisen believes the media's anti-Deion Sanders bias may get so bad that two-way superstar Travis Hunter could be robbed of Heisman consideration; ruining what'd be the epic conclusion to a brilliant college football career.

"If he doesn't win, it will be anti-Deion bias. He is playing with every snap. His routes are second to none, and he plays defense lights out. I swear he is going to do this in the pros," said Eisen (h/t Marca).

Hunter was the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2022 class and did the unthinkable by choosing Jackson State out of high school. He followed Coach Prime to Boulder and saw his legend grow even further, but nothing he's ever done has put him quite on the map like what he is doing now.

In 2024, he has six touchdowns through five games on the scoring side of the football and 16 tackles (the most of any Power 4 cornerback with a missed one), a forced fumble, and two interceptions defensively.

There's no better player in the world than Hunter. But because voters don't like his head coach, many fear that the right thing isn't going to happen when it comes time to pick a Heisman Trophy winner.

Even Hunter himself thinks the fix will be in.

Travis Hunter fears an anti-Deion Sanders bias can prevent him from winning the Heisman

Hunter previously echoed Eisen's sentiment that the anti-Deion bias could sink No. 12's Heisman case during an episode of "Kickin It With Dee."

"I could be at the top of their list. They are just not saying anything. And I can also be at the bottom of the list because they just don't like who my coach is," said Hunter.

College football is in a bad place if personal feelings about a coach has an effect on a player winning an individual accolade.

For all the good NIL brings, holding things like this against players is an almost equal force of evil.
