Miami's Cam Ward sent a strong message in support of his offseason workout partners, VA Tech's Kyron Drones and Colorado football QB Shedeur Sanders. Ward wishes for all three to be in the NFL draft green room in 2025.

“For sure,” Cam Ward said when asked at ACC Media Days if that is the goal (h/t On3). “We haven’t said that to each other, but I know we all think it. At the end of the day, I feel like we can all put ourselves in the best position to be first-round picks, be top-three round picks.

“So at the end of the day, we’ve all got to play good. To get to that position we’ve all got to make plays. So hopefully come April all three of us are in that green room. If not I’m pretty sure one day we will be.”

Ward revealed how he lets Drones and Sanders know that he's the QB1 of the trio, which pushes him to then prove himself during his reps.

“We help each other just from a competitive standpoint,” Ward said. “I bring it every time we work out together. I let them know that I’m the best quarterback in the group and I’ve got to go prove that every day I step on the field. So that’s just my mindset as I go into things.

“I really don’t let nothing get under my skin because I know what I set out for myself, so that’s the only thing I’m really worried about.”

Cam Ward sends sincere message to Kyron Drones and Shedeur Sanders

Ward could've played it closer to the vest and put the onus on the other two players, but instead, he sent a sincere message on solidarity with the QB trio. It goes a step further when you realize Miami hosts VA Tech in 2024.

Ward, now on his second Power Conference school and third overall in Division I, is a team player wherever he is.

His next stop after The U is the NFL, where that becomes a much greater challenge.
