Chad Johnson roasts Deion Sanders on sensitive topic

If anyone knows how to roll with the punches like a pro, it's Deion Sanders. Coach Prime warded off a humorous remark from Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, handling a potentially offensive comment with goodwill. In their latest episode of NightCap, when discussing Travis Hunter, Johnson seized an opportunity to roast Sanders.

"The kind of teacher I am…I’ll come out there route Travis up and then I’ll lock him up," Ochocinco said. The quick-witted comic genius in Coach Prime replied, "What if I get mad that you routed Travis up and I put my cleats on?"

Just this time, Johnson's wit outplayed Coach Prime as he said, "You can’t do nothing with 8 toes." Coach Prime knew there was no escaping the trap joke he fell into. Ochocinco and his co-host Sharpe burst out into laughter.

Coach Prime, stifling laughter, dramatically left the chat by turning off his video.

Deion Sanders has a healthy perspective in 2024

Coach Prime took up the head coaching role at Jackson State in 2020. In the next year, he developed compartment syndrome, a condition where the pressure in a compartment of the body increases to the point of restricting blood flow. Due to a femoral clot in the left leg, two left toes were amputated.

Sanders underwent multiple surgeries to improve his condition, the treatment for which is still in progress. Clearly over time Sanders has come to terms with his situation, and his ability to laugh signifies a healthy perspective.

Safe to say, Coach Prime not only knows how to joke, but he also knows how to take one too.
