Claim made that prestige and love of Ohio makes Deion Sanders an Ohio State HC option

The latest pitch for Deion Sanders to leave Colorado comes from the same outlet that started up the Coach Prime-to-Florida hoopla, The Wrightway Sports Network, and it's far bolder than the Gators possibility.

TWSN's Blake Meek proposed Ohio State to replace Ryan Day with Sanders if the Buckeyes continue to fall short against rival Michigan in the Big Ten.

His reasoning? Coach Prime loved Ohio in his playing days and OSU could use a major shakeup at the head coaching position.

"One thing that people may not realize about Sanders is that he has stated he really enjoyed living and playing in the state of Ohio," Meek wrote. "When he played for the Cincinnati Reds, he wanted to play for the Bengals as well and build a home in Cincinnati long term and stay there. He stated on the Pat McAfee show that the Bengals didn’t even call him back. Obviously, Ohio State isn’t in Cincinnati, but it shows that he likes this part of the country and would consider living here.

"Another very appealing thing for Sanders would be just how much more prestigious the job is than Colorado. Ohio State is one of the five biggest head coaching jobs in the country. There isn’t much higher you can hope to go than that. It would give Sanders all the coaching advantages he could hope for as well as the recruiting help just from the name Ohio State."

Ohio State is the wildest proposal for Deion Sanders' next job yet

Sanders coaching Ohio State is so absurd on so many levels it's admirable that it was even pitched. Forget Coach Prime's repeated verbal commitments to Boulder. Forget even Sanders' personalized course at CU.

Why would Ohio State, which has the biggest fanbase in the country with some of the deepest NIL pockets from its boosters, take a risk on a head coach who would anger a good portion of the Buckeyes faithful with his hiring?

It's just not happening. Nor is Florida or Mississippi State, but this one you can bet the ranch on.
