Colorado basketball star Cody Williams commented on the Buffs upcoming road trip, one that follows a 3-0 homestand that featured double-digit wins against USC, Oregon, and Oregon State, and sounded confident in what CU can do.

“I think it’s just nice because we know the way we have to play and it kind of gives us something to take on the road, the kind of energy we need to bring because we’re not going to have the crowd cheering for us like we do at home,” Williams said (h/t BuffZone). “But it just shows how good we can be defensively and offensively, and it sets the standard for when we go on the road to just carry over and do the same things that we do here.”

Colorado head coach Tad Boyle wasn't as assured, showing caution when speaking about his program, but echoed much of the same sentiment.

“We’ve got the ability to be a great defensive team,” Boyle said at the Oregon State postgame presser. “And we’re working towards that. Now we have to go do it on the road. That’s the ultimate challenge.

“Our energy on defense, our commitment to it, the guys talking about it in huddles. We got back offensively, kind of back on track as well. Now it’s time to take it on the road. Can we sustain it? Can we learn from that road trip from the Arizonas and Cal, and take it to the Washingtons and Utah? We’ll find out here in a couple weeks. But we’ve got to be ready to go by Wednesday night.”

Colorado basketball could solidify March Madness standing with successful road trip

Colorado isn't taking on the very top of the Pac-12 this coming week, but Washington, Utah, and Wazzu represent the middle class of the conference that Colorado needs to beat in order to stay out of.

Win those games, and the Buffs will be pretty close to undeniable come Selection Sunday.
